Our latest Kiltwalk Highlight

With the Kiltwalk since 2018, Jo Taylor tried out the event for herself! Jo and her husband Craig stepped up for their local foodbank

Name: Jo and Craig Taylor

Occupation:

Jo: Kiltwalk Charity Relationship Coordinator

Craig: Kiltwalk Kiltie come Freelance Event Day Staff (whatever the Head of Events tells me to do)

Craig (furthest left) as part of our Kiltie Team.

Charity you support and why: For the Virtual Kiltwalk 2020 we raised money for our local foodbank in Glasgow North East. We wanted to give back to a local cause that help 1000s of people, especially after the challenges of this past year.

Interesting fact: Last year we got married in New York (although we nearly never made it as we were stranded in Iceland).

You can see us in the gig video for Metallica’s concert in Manchester, 2019, look out for the extremely bright, pink poncho!

Ready to rock! Team Taylor before their Virtual Challenge.

Best ever Kiltwalk highlight:

Jo’s highlight: My first ever Kiltwalk, Glasgow 2018, seeing everyone get involved in a massive ceilidh when the Red Hot Chilli Pipers were on stage. All those people had just walked for miles on end but they were so happy! It was a joy to watch and truly shows Kiltwalks spirit!

Craig’s highlight: Being a Kiltie at Glasgow 2019, seeing Susie McGuire talking to the walkers about their experiences and hearing stories of why people were walking. It was great to be part of such an amazing team with a true sense of camaraderie.

What are you looking forward to most about your next Kiltwalk?

The moment when the start site goes very quiet, very briefly, before Sir Tom or a Star Walker tells a story and the full Kiltwalk (walkers, supporters, charities, Kilties and staff) all listen and take stock of why they are there and the difference they can make. Normally followed by the loudest applause, bagpipes and Greg sending people on their way!

ALL FUNDRAISING GOES TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE

Thank you for your Kiltwalk Kindness.
