Our latest Kiltwalk Highlight

As Partner and Chief Marketing Officer at Johnston Carmichael, Gemma is no stranger to the Kiltwalk

Name: Gemma Spiers

Occupation: Partner and Chief Marketing Officer at Johnston Carmichael

Gemma and the Chartered Akiltants

Charity you support and why: I support Ronald McDonald House and have been fundraising for the charity for 11 years in memory of my beautiful niece, Abby Rose Mier, who sadly passed away in 2009, aged just 11 months. Unfortunately, it’s often not until you’re faced with a life-changing event that you find out the incredible work of so many charities. I’ll never forget how Ronald McDonald House were able to provide much-needed support to my family when we needed it most and no amount of money raised will ever repay that. So, while I’m fit, healthy, and able – I’ll be doing what I can to support them – especially during these challenging times!

The obligatory finish line snap

Interesting fact about yourself: My newfound hobby and distraction to get through this year islifting weights. Bodybuilder in the making! Early stages though 😊

Best ever Kiltwalk highlight: Completing all four Mighty Stride walks with two of my colleagues in 2018. Felt like such a personal achievement for me and was also delighted to do it in aid of charity.

What are you looking forward to most about your next Kiltwalk? Hopefully being able to do it as a mass participation event if we move safely through the pandemic. There’s nothing better than being there live on the day and feeling the emotion, motivating people you’ve never met before.

ALL FUNDRAISING GOES TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE

Thank you for your Kiltwalk Kindness.
