Izzy Conway – Venue Kiltie
Izzy is an Executive Officer and work coach at the Jobcentre Plus. Motivated by the desire to help Scotland’s most vulnerable children, Izzy volunteers for the Kiltwalk because our aims are close to her heart.
“I became a Kiltie last year as I loved that thought of helping such a good cause and who doesn’t like a bit of tartan coupled with such a feel good factor for such a good cause? I get so much from volunteering – new friends, new challenges and experiences, laughter and fun.
Last year I was fortunate enough to be based at the finish line for both the Glasgow and Edinburgh walks and the experience was way beyond what I had expected. I witnessed tears of happiness and of sadness (people walking for a loved one), lots of hugs and cuddles and a proposal on the finish line.
I have since been stopped in the city centre (Glasgow) by a few people who remembered me from the finish line to tell me that they really appreciated the help and encouragement all along the route and the hugs at the end. Words really cannot describe being a Kiltie, it goes way beyond words.”
