Kiltwalk Glasgow 2019 was the BIGGEST EVER Kiltwalk!

Thirteen thousand Kiltwalk Heroes supported over 700 charities all over Scotland, in what was an unforgettable day in Glasgow.

Our Walks

The Glasgow event is the biggest Kiltwalk of the year and takes place on Sunday 28 April 2019 with three separate walks, The Mighty Stride which is a 22.6 mile challenge, The Big Stroll which is just under 15 miles in length and The Wee Wander is 6 miles, fully accessible as well as perfect for the whole family and even the dog!

New for this year: Due to demand every walk has three different start times*. Please think carefully before you choose your start time when you register.

The Glasgow route features a few changes this year, including new start locations and start times for the Big Stroll and Wee Wander, as well as an extra Pit Stop and maybe some surprises too…

 

The Mighty Stride – Glasgow Green to Moss O’Balloch, Loch Lomond (22.6 miles)

Start times*: 09:00am, 09:30am, 10:00am & 10.30am

Release information: Walkers will be released in waves to reduce congestion on the route.

Route information: Walkers will make their way from the picturesque setting of Glasgow Green and follow the Clyde, passing the iconic sights of the Finnieston Crane, the SSE Hydro and the Riverside Museum, where Mighty Striders will find their first Pit Stop.

After a quick break, the route moves on through Yoker and Pit Stop 2 where Mighty Striders will get their mid walk meal. Then onto the cycle path towards Clydebank and Pit Stop 3, where the Big Strollers will have set off a few hours before.

Passing through Bowling and Dumbarton, your Mighty Stride will finish with a party in the beautiful landscapes of Moss O’Balloch Park Loch Lomond.

The Big Stroll – Queens Quay Clydebank to Moss O’Balloch, Loch Lomond (15 miles)

Start times*: 09:00am, 09:30am & 10.00am

Release information: Walkers will be released in waves to reduce congestion on the route.

Route information: First stop is for the Big Strollers is Pit Stop 3 at Three Queens Square, which is 1 mile into the route for the Big Strollers.

From there on, things get more scenic as the route follows the Forth and Clyde Canal, towards Pit Stop 4 and 5 at Erskine Ferry Road and Bowling respectively, which is an ideal spot to take in the Clyde and enjoy a well-earned break.

Another new sight on the route is Pit Stop 6, the Meadow Leisure Centre in Dumbarton.

As the route continues to move away from the City and towards Dumbarton Town Centre, we approach the most picturesque area of the walk and arrive at the Vale of Leven, where walkers will find Pit Stop 7, with the finish line nearly in sight!

The Wee Wander– Levengrove Park Dumbarton to Loch Lomond (6 miles)

Start Times*: 10:00am, 10:30am and 11:00am.

Release information: Walkers will be released in waves to reduce congestion on the route.

Route information:  The Wee Wander has a brand new start for 2019. Leaving from Levengrove Park, Dumbarton, the route takes you on a scenic tour through Vale of Leven where the Wee Wander Pit Stop will be ready and waiting with supplies to keep you going!

In the Kiltwalk Village, all Kiltwalkers will receive a very warm welcome from our Kilties, as well as your very own Kiltwalk medal. This is your chance to enjoy a hot meal, a massage, a licensed bar, as well as all the fun and entertainment the Kiltwalk Village has to offer.
