Some of Scotland's most loved and in our eyes quite amazing children's charities benefit from the proceeds of The Kiltwalk. Additionally many more charities and causes around Scotland are nominated for grants and donations.

So although The Kiltwalk has a growing a reputation for great fun events with loads of colour, entertainment and banter, please keep in mind what it's all for - supporting Scotland's children.

In 2012 Kiltwalkers raised a remarkable £360,000, an average of £260 each (rising to £450 for those in teams).

In 2013 we believe we can raise a magical £1million

To play your part we ask that everyone taking part raises a minimum of £100

The Kiltwalk is no easy challenge - it's a tough day and also requires weeks of training. Your efforts are worth a lot.

Prize Draw - Win a trip to the Brazil 2014 World Cup Finals

Everyone raising the £100 is entered into a prize draw with many fanstatci prizes. And raise more than £500 and you'll be entered into the top tier, the main prize being the trip of a lifetime to Brazil 2014.

Ways to fundraise

Paper sponsorship forms

You'll receive these with your welcome pack. Don't be shy - you'd be surprised how successful you can be just by asking people to sponsor you..

*important - please ask your friends to tick the gift aid box, and write down their name and address. It adds a massive 25% difference to the amount raised*

Online Sponsorship

You'll already have set up your own fundraising page as part of registration.

Our advice is to email your friends individually - group emails tend to be less successful

Facebook and Twitter

Do you have a Facebook page? Use it to tell your friends what you're doing!

Organise other stuff!

Last year people added to their sponsorship by organising bucket collections at work, raffles and race nights. Get in touch and we'll give you all the support you need, including raffle prizes, leaflets and posters.

Employee Matching

Many employers will match what you raise - ask at work to see if they'll do this for you.
