Can more than 1 person be registered together in one go?

Yes. Although every individual has to be registered separately, a team leader can do it in one sitting as long as they also pay all the registration fees.


Can I register a team?

Can we pay the registration fee as a team?

Yes, as long as each individual is registered at the time.


Why do I have to pay a registration fee?

The registration fee covers all the administration and organisational costs such as portaloos, St Andrew’s Ambulance support, refreshments, vans for luggage, coaches back to start points and insurance. Your welcome pack also includes a Kiltwalk t-shirt


What happens if I don’t pay the fee?

Unfortunately you won’t be permitted to take part in the Kiltwalk on the day, as you won’t be sent a registration card


When will I receive my welcome pack?

Welcome packs will be posted within 14 days of registering, containg Kiltwalk t-shirt, sponsor forms and information leaflets. 


When can I start fundraising?

Immediately - Paper sponsorship forms are included in your welcome pack.

Online fundraising through Just Giving.




Do I have to raise a certain amount?

No, but we ask that everyone raises a minimum of £100

The average in 2012 was £350

Please remember it's a charity fundraiser not just a day out


How do I get more paper sponsorship forms?

Can I fundraise directly for other charities?

No, all sponsorship money must be sent in the first instance to The Kiltwalk

By not sending all your fundraising money to The Kiltwalk you may be committing an offence 


How can I help my local children's charity?

Teams of 5 or more can nominate a local children's charity to receive 50% of the sponsorship money they raise. The Kiltwalk Trust Fund will make the donation to the nominated charity after the event

Note: this applies to registered children's charities only 


How do I send my sponsorship money to The Kiltwalk?

After the event please send a cheque payable to The Kiltwalk, along with the completed sponsorship forms to The Kiltwalk, 5 Cramond Glebe Road, Edinburgh, EH4 6NP


Can I send cash?

Yes, but please sure the envelope is secure and post it by recorded delivery


On the Day

When do I have turn up?

For 09:00 starts we ask everyone to turn up between 07:30 and 08:30, however please check closer to the time.

You'll also receive regular emails from The Kiltwalk with all the details you need.


What do I need to bring?

Your registration card (we'll post it to you two weeks before the event) - present it to us when you arrive and hand it over when you finish.


What about food and drink?

We'll provide bottled water and refreshements available at the pit stops BUT PLEASE COME PREPARED with your own drinks, energy bars, sandwiches etc


What about blisters?

You will be supported from start to finish by St Andrews ambulance.

The ambulance will be at the pit stops - if you're feeling a blister start don't be shy, ask to get patched up before it gets worse.

Two of the St Andrews crew will also be zipping about the route on bicycles


How do I get back to Hampden and the Buckie?

We will be running buses back to Hampden and Buckie, or stay for the evening and celebrate with your fellow Kiltwalkers
